In
November 2008 Stephen had the honour of being invited to the installation
of Sir Michael Parkinson as the University's first Chancellor and was delighted
to be invited to dinner with Sir Michael to mark the occasion. 'Parky' says
he hopes he and Stephen can work together to help students in all parts of
the Centre for Broadcast Journalism which now runs at NTU. |

Stephen
also works with Diabetes UK, the charity for people with Diabetes. As a Type
1 Diabetic himself, Stephen is keen to help raise awareness of his chronic
illness through education, information and support.
He is particularly keen to improve access for Type 1 diabetics to DAFNE courses
(dose adjustment for normal eating) and increase availability of insulin
infusion therapy - or insulin pumps as they are better known, as they are
key factors in improving quality of life for those Type 1 diabetics living
with this condition every day. |
